Nginx Reverse Proxy Configuration — Multiple Backend

Topology

Install tomcat and verify

[root@ip-172-31-59-62 nginx]# mkdir -p /usr/share/tomcat/webapps/ROOT/app/
[root@ip-172-31-59-62 nginx]# vim /usr/share/tomcat/webapps/ROOT/app/index.html
tomcat 8080

Install httpd

yum install httpd

Change port

[root@ip-172-31-59-62 nginx]# vim /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
Listen 9000

Verify

[root@ip-172-31-59-62 nginx]# mkdir -p /var/www/html/edu/
[root@ip-172-31-59-62 nginx]# vim /var/www/html/edu/index.html
httpd 9000

Now we can access tomcat and http directly

Let’s configure Nginx reverse proxy

Now we can access www.example.com/app or www.example.com/edu to access different backend
